Free markets and regulation promote welfare growth in the Netherlands. And to have markets work as well as possible, the NMa must operate as efficiently and effectively as possible. By making economic analyses and by giving economic opinions in concrete cases, the Office of the Chief Economist helps the NMa achieve that goal. An annual recurring activity of the Office is calculating the outcome of the NMa’s actions.
