Career

Henk_DonMr. Don worked for the CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB) in The Hague between 1978 and 2006, during which he also worked for the University of Pennsylvania for one year. Until 1984, he was involved in the development of models for the national and world economies. He became a head of sector in 1985, and became deputy director in 1989. From 1994 until 2006, Mr. Don was director of the CPB. Next to his positions at the CPB, Mr. Don was part-time professor in economics at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) between 1990 and 1999. In addition, he was distinguished professor in econometrics and economic policy at the Erasmus School of Economics (Erasmus University) in Rotterdam between 2006 and 2009.

Mr. Don earned a master’s degree in econometrics from the University of Amsterdam (UvA), and received his Ph.D. from the same university, with a dissertation on ‘Linear methods in non-linear models’.
