A focus industry is an area of the Dutch economy that the NMa gives special attention to because of increased risk of anticompetitive behavior. The processing industry is one of the NMa’s focus industries in 2011.
If you have any tip-offs or specific questions regarding the processing industry, please contact division manager Paul Benner. He is an expert in this area. He examines whether the market functions well, and is on the look-out for potential abuses.

In 2010, the NMa imposed fines for cartel activities on flour producers and on manufacturers of insulated glass. In addition, the NMa approved the acquisition of veal producer Alpuro by Van Drie.
