Cooperation within the Netherlands

Apart from the NMa, the Netherlands has many more regulatory bodies. These bodies are often charged with oversight on one specific industry. The NMa attaches great value to cooperation with other regulatory bodies. We could, for example, share knowledge and experiences, such as in the Consultation Forum of Regulatory Bodies (MTB). The MTB was created in 2009. It is a collaboration between the NMa and five other regulators: the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa), the Independent Post and Telecommunications Authority (OPTA), the Dutch Consumer Authority, the Dutch central bank (DNB), and the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM).

Cooperation with other government organizations

The NMa also maintains close relationships with other organizations within the government, such as the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Security and Justice, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, and the Public Prosecution Service.

For cooperation with a number of organizations, the NMa has drawn up protocols or covenants.
